Over 300 school decision makers in Physical Education from around the globe converged on Adelaide South Australia to hear from industry leaders & professionals regarding Health & Fitness in schools. Polar Kids R Active featured a trade display at the conference…

We received an overwhelming response towards our program, including several from international schools; one of the benefits expressed by many physical educators was the online component our program offers allowing teachers to easily deliver health and fitness information to students.

Is it really your maximum heart rate?

Measurement of the maximal heart rate is the key to planning the intensity of training and work outs.
The calculation of 220 beats per minute less your age is crude and unreliable, but there are a number of other methods of finding an individual maximal heart rate more accurately. They can be carried out in the laboratory, the gym or in the field.

But how can you be sure that the reading really is the maximal? And which method is the most reliable?

What are we putting in Our Bodies?

In the fast world we live in – do we have the time to stop and think about what we put in our bodies as our food source? Have we become programmed by the many Advertisements promoting fast food chains as the quick and easy fix for meal replacements?

"Through my many years of promoting organic food and sounding out the benefits of going Organic… – Finally! Today organic farming is recognised as a way to produce food that benefits our health and the health of the environment.....Naturally grown and Chemical free.

Schools can make a difference to educating young minds by developing small organic gardens – and also introduce the grown foods at the canteen to try!!

Your school canteen can be a great way to start to introduce Organic foods -this could be to cut up some raw fresh vegetables
Such as

1. Carrot strips
2. Celery
3. Cucumber

"Changing the mind set of a young individual to realise that this food group is good for you will provide long term benefits"
